Mass shooting at Texas baptist church in Sutherland Springs 'leaves up to 27 dead after gunman opens fire at Sunday service'

A man “in full gear” stormed into the First Baptist Church of Sutherland Springs in Texas and opened fire around 11:30 am during the Sunday morning service leaving 27 people dead and dozens of people injured.

Tearful relatives have gathered outside the church as they wait desperately to hear about their loved ones.

 

Sheriff Joe Tackitt has confirmed there were “multiple casualties and fatalities.”

Witnesses on scene described a two-year-old as being one of the shot victims.

Victims were rushed to the hospital as at least six helicopters arrived on scene of the attack.

The shooter has been taken down by police and is now dead.

The motive of these shootings remain s mystery yet to be solved.

Texas Governor, Greg Abbott tweeted,

“Our prayers are with all who were harmed by this evil act. Our thanks to law enforcement for their response. More details from DPS soon.”
